  1. I'm impressed with the number of books you have posted as read on your Shelfari bookshelf. Great job!

  2. Thanks for selecting The Invention of Hugo Cabret. It is probably not a book I would have picked out myself, but it is absolutely wonderful!!!

  3. I would like to start two discussions. This one is about illkustrators. Who we like and who we love as far as illustrators. There may be some we don't like too much. I would like us to discuss the book Invention of Hugo Cabret and how the author used pencil drawings to make the illustrations look like they are part of a movie. We didn't know this information until Part 2 of the book began because up until that time we seemed to have one story about Hugo and later on we find it was totally another story. Can you share any comments you have about any illustrations you have seen since being in this class? Remember, the Caldecott Awards are given for illustrators so that might be a good beginning for our discussion.

  4. My second discussion groupis about young adult readers. Who are young adults according to your textbook? What are their characteristics? Based on your interviews, what are YA's reading preference?
